H.G. Robertson will engrave by hand or machine items that are purchased in the store, as well as possible items from estates. Our hand engraver has made many beautiful custom pieces with unique touches: from engraving a music score of a sentimental song to tracing personal artwork. For simpler monograms, a variety of hand engraving styles may be seen here. Prices vary with style and length. 

Our staff is equipped to carefully assist in dividing estates equitably among heirs or recommending which pieces should remain in the family and which might be viable to sell. We also offer clients a qualified appraisal of their silver for insurance purposes. All appraisals will meet USPAP standards, as recommended by the U.S. Appraisal Foundation.

Our staff regularly searches for unusual collectible pieces for clients. We love to assist in finding a rare silver piece to finish a beautiful collection. Please let us know if there is something in particular you are missing, and we are happy to assist you.

We have a wonderful polisher on staff that is up to the challenge for any tarnished piece. He is equipped to also polish brass and other metals. We recommend bringing your silver into the store for polishing; however, for large estates, he can come to your home. The price for items brought into the store is based on an hourly rate.

Sentimental estate pieces that are damaged may often be repaired. We are happy to take a look at any piece to see if we can bring it back to its original beauty, whether it is replacing a comb in a brush or removing dents and scratches.
